The following in-hospital complications are categorized as specific: Misplacement of the implant; secondary dislocation of the implant; closed or open reposition of the implant; lesion of vessels; lesion of nerve roots; periprosthetic fractures and wound infections. General in-hospital complications are defined as: Pneumonia; urinary tract infection; sepsis; pulmonary embolism; venous thromboembolism; cardiac complications; etc. For reasons of simplicity and clarity, the most informative variables are shown.
