Photographs of a 37-year old man who sustained type IIIA multifragmentary distal articular femur fracture and traumatic brain injury in motorcycle accident. Wound debridement and immediate primary closure were done on the day of injury. Stabilization with a locked intramedullary nail and augmenting side plate was done 9 days post-injury after he recovered from head injury. The fracture healed without infection
