Translation step-cut osteotomy for correction of cubitus varus deformity. a. The humerus-elbow-wrist (HEW) angle is measured on an anteroposterior radiograph. b. After the correction angle is determined by comparing HEW angles of both elbows, the initial transverse osteotomy line is made about 0.5 to 1 cm superior to the olecranon fossa and perpendicular to the axis of the humerus. The osteotomy is performed along the triangular line. c. The deformity is corrected by rotating the distal fragment externally to correction internal rotational (white arrow) and translating it medially to prevent lazy S-shaped deformity (yellow arrow). d. After correction, the excised triangular bone is used as supplementary bone graft
