Diagram of experimental system. The foot, with or without insole, was set on a force plate. Ten thousand cyclic axial loadings (normal group, 500 N; obese and insole groups, 1000 N) were applied to the proximal end of the leg. The posterior tibial tendon was pulled proximally (32 N) by a servomotor during the weight-bearing phase of cyclic loading. LED displacement was monitored via a CCD camera, and the image was converted to a coordinate system
