In both medial (a) and lateral (b) meniscus, SP+ fibers were greater in the anterior horn or posterior horn than in the all body parts; it was also greater in anterior body or posterior body than in the middle part. No significant difference was found between anterior horn vs posterior horn, anterior body vs posterior body and paired medial versus lateral meniscus (c).
