Expression of DR3 on Splenic CD4+ T Cells following Ovairectomy. Female BALB/c mice (12 weeks) underwent either sham or ovariectomy (OVX) surgery. The (a) number of DR3+ splenic CD4+ T cells and (b) DR3 expression (MFI) was analysed by flow cytometry 1 week and 8 weeks post-surgery. One week post-surgery significantly increased CD4+ DR3+ cell numbers (p < 0.05) and DR3 expression (p < 0.01) was observed in the OVX cohort compared to the sham cohort (p < 0.05). At 8 weeks post-surgery no difference was detected between the sham and OVX cohorts. Statistical analysis performed by unpaired student’s t-test
