JAK inhibition with JTE-052 suppresses joint inflammation and joint destruction in rats with adjuvant-induced arthritis (AIA). Rat with clinical signs of joint inflammation were orally administered vehicle, JTE-052 (0.1, 1, or 10 mg/kg), or methotrexate hydrate (MTX; 0.3 mg/kg) once daily for 1 week from day 15. The volumes of the hind paws (a) were measured periodically. Hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections (b) and radiographs (d) of the hindlimbs are shown. The histological (c) and radiographic (e) changes were scored.
