The mechanical tibiofemoral angle (MTFA) was defined as the angle formed between the mechanical axis of the femur and that of the tibia. The mechanical axis of the femur was defined as the line joining the center of the femoral head and the center of the femoral component. The mechanical axis of the tibia was defined as the line connecting the center of the tibial component and the center of the tibial plafond.
