  1. * Proper chair: chairs with straight backs or low back support and also knee support to keep the knees a little higher than the hips. Proper shoes: shoes with low heels (1 inch or lower). Proper bed: medium-firm mattresses that provide support while allowing for natural curves and alignment of the spine.
