Immunohistochemical analyses for TGF-β1, TGF-β2 and TGF-β3 in contraction band (A, C, E, G) and unaffected adjacent muscle (B, D, F, H). Staining was carried out with antibodies against TGF-β1 (A, B), TGF-β2 (C, D), TGF-β3 (E, F) or without first antibody (control) (G, H). Proteins specifically recognized by the antibodies are stained red, whereas nuclei are counter-stained blue. Positive cells are fibroblasts (arrowheads) and vascular endothelial cell (arrows).
