From: Partial two-stage exchange: an alternative method for infected total hip arthroplasty

Left hip anteroposterior radiograph of patient 26. This patient who had undergone left THA half year previously was unfortunately infected. He underwent debridement and antibiotic-loaded cement implantation at the local hospital. (A) Photo taken when admission showed noticeable infection and massive soft tissue defects. (B) The X-ray showed no evidence of loosening of the acetabular cup and the femoral stem. (C) The acetabular cup was removed and a cement spacer was inserted in the first-stage operation. (D) At the second-stage operation, the spacer was removed, and the new implants were inserted. (E) There was no radiographic sign of implant loosening during the follow-up
