Behaviour change method

Definition

Persuasive communication

Guiding individuals toward the adoption of an idea, attitude, or action by using arguments or other means.

Using imagery

Presenting information in a pictorial format will aid the communication of conceptual ideas and facilitate the learning of new motor patterns

Consciousness raising

Providing information and feedback about the causes, consequences, and alternatives for a problem behaviour.

Counter conditioning

Encouraging the learning of healthier behaviours that can substitute for problem behaviours.

Feedback

Giving information to individuals regarding the extent to which they are accomplishing learning or performance.
