Since the cubital tunnel is a structure forming a curvature, traditional craniocaudally directed axial CT images could not measure the cross-sectional area of the actual nerve passing (left). Cutting the plane vertical to the curvature of the cubital tunnel enables accurate measurement by positive axial image of the curvature where the nerve passes through (right)
