All measurements are depicted. Structures of interests are the fractured vertebral body (*), the superior adjacent intervertebral disc (k), the inferior interverterbral disc (#), the reference disc (+) and the length of the posterior rod (x) in order to minimize magnification errors. The heights of the discs and the vertebral body were measured at the anterior cortex, the posterior cortex and in the center (mid size) between the anterior and posterior cortex. The height of the intervertebral discs were calculated in accordance to Spiegl et al 60] as one third of the sum of the anterior, central and posterior height
