3D-MEDIC false positive case. Coronal 2D-PD fs (a) and coronal reconstruction of the 3D-MEDIC (b) of a 52-year-old patient with no SLAP lesion at arthroscopy. An increased signal within the superior labrum is appreciated in the 2D-PD fs (arrow head in A) corresponding to mucoid degeneration without a discernable tear. Neither rater noticed a tear in that sequence. The high internal signal of the labrum is even more pronounced in the 3D-MEDIC (arrow in B) with an inhomogeneous pattern. Both raters diagnosed a SLAP lesion using the 3D-MEDIC in this case.
