Initial radiographs of the left small finger distal phalanx in the anteroposterior (a) and lateral (b) view. Bone structure and mineralization is unremarkable and no signs of pathology are present. Magnetic resonance imaging of the left little finger in proton density fast spin echo sequence in the coronal (c) and sagittal (d) plane. Signal hyperintensity in the area of the distal phalanx, with no bone lesions is observed. These findings correlate with soft-tissue oedema medial, lateral and dorsal to distal phalanx
