Muscle Strength Assessment. Legend: For the assessment of quadriceps strength, a) the hand-held dynamometer was positioned on the anterior aspect of the distal tibia, just superior to the malleoli, and b) participants were seated on an examination table with their knees flexed to 60° and their feet off the ground. An inelastic strap was secured around the treatment table under the participant, and was used to maintain the position of the hand-held dynamometer and the knee angle during each testing trial. For the assessment of hamstring strength, c) the hand-held dynamometer was positioned on the posterior aspect of the lower leg, just superior to the malleoli, and d) participants were seated on an examination table with their knees flexed to 60° and their feet off the ground. An inelastic strap was secured around the waist of the assessor who was seated directly in front of the participant.
