Intensity of predominant pain in the masticatory system. This intensity (mm on a 100Ā mm VAS) is depicted as a function of time for two types of therapy, two treatment outcomes according to TDC (successful treatment, STx; unsuccessful treatment, UTx), and the various pre-treatment and treatment stages. Mean and SEM are depicted for pain intensity as well as the timing of the stages. Stages: I, initial visit; St-Tx, start of treatment (corresponding with the zero point of time); E-Tx, end of treatment; EM, end measurement of treatment at the first post-treatment visit; LM, last measurement from patients with a successful treatment, following a 1-year-follow-up.
