Gene expression of OPG a and RANKL b and the RANKL/OPG ratio c Osteoblasts from OA patients (n = 10), OP patients (n = 10) and T2DM patients (n = 12) were treated with low glucose as control (4.5 mM; Glu), high glucose (25 mM; HGlu) and high glucose + AGEs (2 μg/ml; HGlu + AGEs). The results were normalized to 18S ribosomal and adjusted for age in the statistical analyses. The data is expressed as mean ± SEM (relative units). (*statistically significant at p < 0.05)
