THP-1 macrophage-like cells, co-cultured with MG-63 osteoblast-like cells, were subjected to various virtually osteolytic stimuli (negative control, LPS concentrations of 10 pg/ml and 100 ng/ml, and UHMWPE with a cell-to-particle ratio of 1:500) and neuropeptide treatment (control, CGRP) for 6, 24 and 48 h of incubation
