  1. 1 x 105 NP cells were monolayer transduced with scAAV6 [5000 vg/c] and 3D cultured for four weeks in collagen I scaffold. Expression levels [pg/ml] of the inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β & TNF-α), catabolic factors (ADAMTS-4 & ADAMTS-5) and matrix proteins (Aggrecan & Collagen II) were determined using ELISA-assays applied on 100 μg of total protein extracts of each sample. Data represent the mean and standard deviation (SD) of three independent experiments, each performed in duplicate (p < 0.05). The mean fold represents the ratio of the untreated (control) expression level to scAAV6 treated expression level
