Bone mineral content (BMC) of the femoral metaphysis at baseline (time 0) and 2, 4 and 6 weeks of study. Solid bars, controls; hatched bars, Mg-deficient mice. BMC of controls increased significantly over the first 2 weeks (p = 0.005), with no significant change thereafter.
