Table 1 Inclusion and exclusion criteria

Age: 18 to 40 years

Prior injuries to the knee, ankle or foot

Informed consent

Knee, ankle or foot pain within the last 2 years

Subjects can read and understand German

History of ankle trauma or surgery

Impaired knee range of motion

Conditions/systematic diseases possibly affecting the neuromuscular or musculoskeletal system

Pregnancy [anamnestic]

Cardiovascular diseases including thrombosis

Regular medication excluding contraceptives

Subject is unable to give informed consent
