Table 1 Mean values of the scoring of morphological changes and the mean values of SP concentations as measured by EIA in the soleus (SOL) and gastrocnemius (GM) muscles for the NaCI, SP + C + Th and C + Th groups are shown

From: Inhibitors of endopeptidase and angiotensin-converting enzyme lead to an amplification of the morphological changes and an upregulation of the substance P system in a muscle overuse model

  1. For the SP + C + Th group, samples were obtained from both the experimental (exp) and non-experimental (non-exp) sides. For the other groups, the samples were solely from the experimental side. Values within brackets (concerning SP concentration, SOL) are the mean values if samples for which CV was above 15% were excluded (CV was above 15% concerning values for in total 3 samples out of the 42 samples analyzed).
  2. One way ANOVA in combination with post hoc comparisons was applied for the analysis of differences between the groups concerning SP concentration. Significance level was set at 0.05. Symbols concerning occurrence of statistical significances are shown. #Significant difference as compared to NaCI group. Significant difference between the C + Th group and the SP + C + Th group (experimental side), significant difference between the C + Th group and the SP + C + Th group (non-experimental side).
